Holliston, MA (April 8, 2013) - Union Biometrica, Inc., the leader in Large Particle Flow Cytometers, announced an exciting new approach to analysis and sorting of encapsulated fungal spores, at the 27th Fungal Genetics Conference in Pacific Grove, CA last month. As more and more researchers adopt bioencapsulation methods for their studies, Union Biometrica continues to expand the range of sample types that have been successfully tested on their flow cytometers. Besides this recent description of encapsulated fungal spores, the company has previously presented data showing the successful sorting of a variety of encapsulated particles including: vegetative stages of filamentous fungi (Aspergillus and Trychoderma), bacteria, yeast, stem cells and cell clusters (adipocytes and pancreatic islets).
