Union Biometrica, Inc. to display the new VAST BioImagerâ„¢ system at the 5th Strategic Conference of Zebrafish Investigators from January 19-23, 2013
Replacing the tedium of manual sample positioning, the system automatically loads each larva into a capillary, positions it laterally, and then rotates it in the field of view of the on-board camera for organ level imaging. Alternately the VAST can be mounted on a high resolution upright microscope for high content bright field or fluorescent imaging at the cellular level.
Based on technology from the Yanik Lab at MIT and licensed from Entera Pharmaceuticals, VAST is a modular, configurable and expandable platform that can grow with your research needs and budget. Additional options include automation software and the new LP Sampler large particle auto-sampler for multi-well plates. For further information on this new innovative technology which will be available in early 2013, go to: http://www.unionbio.com/vast/
The meeting brings together leading zebrafish principal investigators from around the world to discuss current research, emerging technologies, and challenges facing the zebrafish research community. This year’s meeting be held at the Asilomar Conference Grounds in Pacific Grove, CA. Additional information regarding the meeting is available at: http://www.zebrafishgenetics.org/2013/

About Union Biometrica, Inc.
Union Biometrica designs and markets tools for high throughput model organism research. In addition to VAST, we offer Large Particle Flow Cytometers (COPAS™ and BioSorter®) for objects that are too large / too fragile for traditional cytometers and offer an alternative to manual sorting. These systems sort and dispense objects based on size and fluorescent parameters. Automating this process offers increased speed, sensitivity, quantification, and repeatability of experiments.
Peer reviewed journal papers referencing the sorting of zebrafish using our COPAS and BioSorter instruments can be viewed using the link below.
